I want to give a 5-Star Review to Brittany at Specs of Madison!  My two children and I have been using Specs of Madison for several years and Brittany has ALWAYS been a HUGE help with anything we have had to call or come in about!  Whether it’s regarding getting a receipt that my FSA  needed, getting information needed for a rebate, helping my son get his contacts ordered in the office (because the app/site wasn’t working), to getting our prescriptions. She went above and beyond to help us locate my son’s contact lens prescription and made sure we were able to get the correct contact lenses before our upcoming vacation. After seeing these reviews I feel that I should share my experience. I had a great time visiting Specs of Madison and would recommend it to anyone who needs an eye exam. All-in my exam was around $100 out of pocket (no insurance) which is cheaper than other places I've seen in the area. My exam was performed by in-person staff, not the weird tele-health thing so many eye centers are changing to. I feel that all of my needs were met and attended to by the staff. Husband and I came here for exams and glasses. They were amazing, professional and really helped my husband with his first pair of glasses. Worked with our insurance to make sure we got the most out of our allowance. Josh was amazing with all the questions my husband had and really took the time to explain all the options and help him decide what to get. We actually had finished ordering our glasses and the optometrist asked to see my husband again cuz she noticed his eyes were really dry. She ran an extra test and recommended a course of action that I really felt like was above and beyond. Made us feel like she really cares about his eye health. I'm shocked to be reading so many poor reviews because in my three (?) years as a patient, I 've always been treated with respect and they've always promptly seen me. I'm a breastfeeding mother, and Dr. Wright and her staff were very accommodating during my appointment. They were so patient and way more tolerant of my children than any other medical provider I've ever been to. To be able to receive care without feeling unwelcome with my children is priceless. I visit this location on average twice per year. I come here for a visual field check and new glasses/contacts. I’ve always received good service here. When it comes to picking out new frames, they are always very patient with me, and they are always very helpful. The tech that performs the visual field test is always more than happy to share the results with me before the doctor looks at them and answers any questions I have. I was searching for a New opthmalogist for my family.My husband and I haven't had eye exams in years.  I chose Specs. I'm glad that I did. I was greeted by Tammy the receptionist and she was very friendly.Tammy was great she didn't rush us through the registration process  and she was kind and patient  with us as well. Randie was the one that took me back introduced herself to me. She did the first part of our exams. She was great as well .She smiled and explained  what she  was doing as she went through. Next  we met  Dr. Ashley Wright she introduced herself to me and explained everything she did to me even the  terms I did not understand. She was quick to answer all my questions. DR. Ashley  was warm and friendly  and reassuring and I got the feel she and her staff really care about their patients. That means a lot to me and my family. This is just what I was looking for for my family. They are now who I trust with our eye health. Randie and Tammy I  apologize in advance if I didnt spell these  two sweet ladies names correctly. If you are looking for an eye Dr. please go see them. My experience was a pleasant one. I'm glad that we did. We were  not made to feel like we were just a number. When my glasses broke on the day before Thanksgiving, I was in a bind. Specs of Madison was able to schedule a same-day appointment and order new frames for me. Dr. Wright provided an excellent exam and thorough analysis of the health of my eyes. She also provided me with the electronic records related to my exam that very afternoon. Jasmine, who is a very considerate optician at this office, helped me determine which frames best suited my needs and walked me through the process of securing a replacement pair. I was upset about breaking my glasses during the holidays, and I thought obtaining a replacement pair would be daunting. I am not sure about some of these lower ratings. I think most people tend to leave reviews when they are mad. I am very happy with SPECS of Madison! I have seen both Dr O’Campo and Dr Wright once when O’Campo was out. Both are very nice, thorough, and explain what is going on. I have developed cataracts and they took time to explain the issue and the options. When i wanted to change surgeons from the one they referred me to (due to scheduling) they were very nice and changed the referral. I’ve never had problems making an appointment either. I just wanted to thank McCullough for her kindness, professionalism, and most of all her patience. My 16 year old son had his first contact fitting and I'm sure there average person who is new to contacts can learn rather quickly how to put them in and out. However, it wasn't the case for my son. I needed to switch eye doctors because of my insurance I got, and I was nervous about trying a new place. I have to say, they treated me very well! I was greeted by several upbeat workers before going into my exam, all very nice. They did the preliminary tests with ease with a patient attitude. I felt comfortable in the atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, it is well laid out, very modern, and clean. The staff, however, makes the establishment shine. I met with a very patient and cool doctor that got my eyesight back to normal, and I'm very happy with her taking the time to get things right. As someone who has needed major vision correction most of my life (I wear glasses despite having had LASEK ten years ago), I have to say this was by far and away the best experience with an Optometrist I have ever had. Not only did everything seem super clean especially with the pandemic going on, but every single staff member I interacted with was super professional. I am usually leery of online reviews as sometimes it seems like they are "planted" or "fake" reviews to make a place look better, as another review from a former employee claims to be the case, but I am a real customer and this place was awesome. I was given an appointment for the very next day, which was great considering I was desperate and my glasses had broken, leaving me without anything. Jason, who I believe was the store manager and also came into the exam room first, took a look at my glasses (silhouette brand) and fixed them free of charge. I even offered to pay for the replacement parts but he said not to worry about it. After a short wait, much shorter than I am used to, Dr. Kimberly came in and was incredibly kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. She was very pleasant to speak with and not once did she come across in a condescending "I am the doctor" tone that I have experienced so many times elsewhere. After the exam, I sat with another lady who I wish I remembered the name of who was also very kind. Even though they knew I was not purchasing today (my new insurance kicks in soon), she took the time to compare pricing for me between the daily and monthly contact options. Not once did I feel pressured by a single individual at this facility to purchase more than I came for. All in all, great experience from beginning to end and I would recommend giving them a shot. I heard about this place through my co-worker because she had such a super cute pair of frames that I absolutely loved! The entire process from registration to getting my glasses was super smooth!! I was able to get an appointment in pretty quickly. I loved how thorough Dr. Ocampo was with explaining the different types of contacts that they offered and their frame selection is wonderful!
